Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is already one of the most recognizable players in the NFL, for a good reason. Mahomes not only possesses a staggering arm, but he is also able to scramble with ease and rifle passes at almost any angle and in any position on the field.

Now, according to ESPN Stats & Info, Mahomes bested a record previously held by Dan Marino on Monday when his Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills by a final margin of 26-17:

As you can see, Patrick Mahomes hit the 90-touchdown threshold in only 37 starts, beating Marino by three games. That’s a staggering feat, which is further compounded by his generally dazzling all-around passing stats.

Heading into Monday's game against the Bills, Mahomes was already 24th among active players in passing touchdowns. Of course, that number is buoyed by his 2018 campaign in which he tied Tom Brady for second-most passing touchdowns in a single season with 50.

As of  writing, Mahomes was also tied for the second-highest QBR in NFL history at 87.40, which would match Peyton Manning in 2006 with the Indianapolis Colts–trailing only Brady’s historic 2007 season.

Beyond his overall massive passing numbers, the 25-year-old star QB has also proven himself to be a brilliant postseason performer, as it looks like he will be a fixture in the NFL playoffs for years to come with the Chiefs.

On Monday, for only the second time in his career, the Chiefs rushed more than they passed, but the record books will likely look very different once Mahomes’ career is over.
