The impact of the Kansas City Chiefs' recent championship run is felt by people outside of the sports world. Multi-awarded American rapper Post Malone recently lost on a bet against Patrick Mahomes and pal Travis Kelce. The consequence? A tattoo with the signatures of the Super Bowl LIV champions.

Patrick Mahomes appeared on the cover of the latest GQ magazine and explained how it all transpired at a show in KC the night of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade:

“Post hands a piece of paper to Mahomes and Kelce, and he asks them to write their signatures, and he promises to tattoo the autographs onto his body—you know, like, permanently—if they can beat him again”

“He has a tattoo artist literally in the room,” recalls Mahomes, who sounds alarmed even in retrospect. “I’m like, ‘Dude, you do not actually have to get a tattoo of our autographs.’ ”

Post Malone was indeed a man of his words. A fan account shared a picture of the viral ink on Twitter:

With the countless number of tattoos etched on Post Malone's skin, it wouldn't hurt to add a piece of football history to his collection.

However, the championship festivities are now over for the Chiefs and it is nearly the time for them to gear up for the upcoming season. Despite having a 2020 season shaken up by the coronavirus pandemic, the Mahomes-led team will attempt to overcome the odds and make a return trip to Super Bowl LV to defend their title.
