Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continue his impressive season with a highlight-reel play on the first drive of the game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mahomes added to his already incredible touchdown total by scrambling around for seemingly forever before finding an open Demarcus Robinson in the end zone for the first points of the game.

What's even more ridiculous about the whole sequence is that Mahomes has a player all over him while throwing the ball. Here's the video proof of the magical talents of the Chiefs' star quarterback:

At this point, it's clear that Mahomes is the front-runner to win NFL MVP honors, and he just continues to add to his case with these types of plays. We knew going into the season that he would offer a different dynamic than Alex Smith, but no one could have expected this type of campaign from the former Texas Tech star.

But Mahomes' production has helped Kansas City be one of the most difficult teams to prepare for in the NFL, and that's one of the reasons why they ranked at the top in our power rankings this week.

Of course, a win over the Chargers would help the Chiefs feel even better about their path to a Super Bowl, as it would help lock up an AFC West title and a first-round bye.

Kansas City would obviously still prefer to grab home-field advantage as well, and if Mahomes keeps playing at his current level, that may not be a problem.
