UFC 261 was a much-anticipated fight but was unfortunately struck with one of the most gruesome injuries to take place in the ring. Chris Weidman suffered a leg injury that left many cringing and sent an outpouring of support over for the UFC star.
Fortunately, there is an update on the status of Weidman, as his wife posted to her Instagram account.
The past couple of days must have been a whirlwind for the Weidman family, but everything seems to have gone well as far as surgery goes. After his leg snapped at the start of the fight against Uriah Hall, many were left in shock and curious about the status of the UFC star.
For his family, we can only imagine their state after seeing him have to be stretchered out of the arena after an awful injury. As his wife mentioned, the outpouring of support from the sports community was tremendous. Conor McGregor, Francis Ngannou, and many others were among those to share their support, prayers, and good thoughts after Saturday night's UFC fight ended abruptly due to the disaster.
As it stands right now, Chris Weidman is out of surgery and as good as can possibly be after such a terrible injury. Hopefully, Weidman can avoid any type of complications and can have a speedy and quick recovery to get back in the ring sooner than later.
