The never-ending DeAndre Jordan saga will once again write a new chapter at the end of this NBA season, as the big man is bound to make a big decision with only one season left in his four-year, $87.6 million contract.

According to The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor, the putback king will make his decision based not on a lucrative contract, but rather in the ideal basketball situation for his career, as he finishes his 10th season in the league.

“Multiple executives and agents think DeAndre Jordan’s decision might depend more on where he wants to play than the money he can make,” wrote O'Connor. “Jordan said on February 9 that he wants to be somewhere he’s wanted, and he doesn’t know whether that can be said about the Clippers. Still, you need to be careful about the emotional roller coaster players experience ahead of free agency. Jordan might not have been happy to have been shopped in January and February, but things can change by June.”

The L.A. Clippers played with the possibility of shipping him to the Cleveland Cavaliers, as he became one of the biggest names to emerge in the midst of rumors prior to the trade deadline.

While he has tied his career-high for rebounds per game (15) and seen a vast improvement in his free-throw shooting, Jordan's defense has taken a steep decline, only blocking one shot per game and getting half a steal per contest — his worst numbers since his second season in the league.

The big man is still bound to get plenty of attention as a nightly double-double threat, but his choice will mostly involve a place where he feels he can flourish and make the most of the prime of his career.
