The Phoenix Suns had arguably the most shocking win of the young season when they took down the LA Clippers on Saturday night, 130-122.

After the game, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers expressed his displeasure in the way his team played:

“You have a couple of these games where you're just late on everything,” Rivers said, via ESPN. “I thought we were late on everything. On the offensive end, we had no pace. We deserved to lose.”

You really can't take your foot off the gas pedal in this league. No matter how heavily favored one team is over the other, the inferior team can sneak up and get one over the superior squad.

Phoenix raced out to an early lead in the first quarter before LA knotted things up at 55-55 heading into the intermission. Both teams were neck-and-neck and exchanging the lead up until the midway point of the third quarter, which is when Phoenix pulled away.

The young Suns were eventually able to hold off the Clippers to hand them their first loss of the season.

It was a magnificent effort from Phoenix, which is still recovering from the loss of prized sophomore center Deandre Ayton. The former No. 1 overall pick was suspended for 25 games for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy.

Phoenix had every reason to cave in on Saturday, especially after suffering a heartbreaking one-point loss at the hands of the Denver Nuggets in their previous outing. Instead, they fought valiantly and knocked off one of the heavy favorites to win it all this season.

Devin Booker led the Suns' efforts with 30 points and 10 assists. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 20 points and five boards, while Frank Kaminsky contributed 18 points, eight rebounds, and six assists off the bench.
