The results of the Ezekiel Elliott appeal have yet to be disclosed with the Dallas Cowboys and the star running back having to wait and see whether his six-game suspension will be reduced.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones recently talked about the appeal process in Elliott's case and that he'll have more to say about the situation very soon, via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
“I don’t want to make the comment, and I know y’all can imagine with all that we have flying around the courtrooms and the basic hearing rooms,” Jones said when asked about Elliott during his Tuesday visit with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “That would be one I’d pass on this morning. I’ll have more news for you as we get into the week.”
Apparently, Jones may be talking about Elliott's situation and appeal decision very soon.
According to Tom Pelisserio of NFL.com, the ruling on Elliott's appeal will be announced by the end of the day on Tuesday.
With the decision on whether to reduce or erase Elliott's suspension entirely being crucial to the Cowboys' 2017 campaign, it'll be interesting to see what the results will be and Jones' response once the decision is made official.
In the meantime, the Cowboys will have to move forward with the expectation of going with Darren McFadden as their starting running back.
