A spot in the knockout round is on the line at UEFA Euro 2024 as Czechia faces Turkey. It is time to continue our 2024 Euros odds series with a Czechia-Turkey prediction and pick.

Czechia still has a chance to move forward in Euro 2024, but it would take a win over Turkey, plus Georgia not to beat Portugal by more than two goals. Cezchia opened their tournament with a loss to Portugal. They started strong with a goal in the 62nd minute by Lukas Provod to take the lead. They would concede an own goal and then a goal in the 92nd minute to fall 2-1. Czechia would dominate against Georgia, but allow the first goal of the game. It would be a penalty kick in stoppage time of the first half. Still, they would get 12 shots on goal and 27 total attempts but just come away with one goal in a 1-1 draw.

Turkey took a win in their opening game. They would score twice in the second half to take a 3-1 win over Georgia. Still, they were dominated in their second game. While Turkey had three shots on target and 11 total attempts, they would allow three goals and fall to Portgual 3-0.

Why Czechia Will Win

Czechia played well in qualifying as well. They scored 1.5 goals per game, putting up 12 goals in qualifying. They also showed quality defense, allowing just six goals total, or .75 goals per match. Tomas Soucek led the offensive attack for Czechia. He scored three times and had one assist in eight games in qualifying. He also was second on the team in total shots with 18 and put five of them on target He struggled in the game with Portugal. Still, he has not been great in the tournament so far, having just one chance so far. Patrik Shick has been solid for Czechia. He has had seven total attempts with four on target. Shick also has a goal in the games.

The defense will be a key factor for Czechia getting the win. Jindrich Stanek will need to continue to be solid in goal. He has seven saves so far in the games, while also making two punches and allowing very few second chances orpptounites Ladislav Krejci was also solid in defense, with three interceptions and one takeaway. He was one of the primary defenders that kept Portugal at bay for most of the game. Another key factor will be Tomas Holes. Holes played in eight marches on defense, having a plus-eight rating in the eight matches, the best on the team. He had four interceptions and nine tackles won with just two fouls in his eight games. He has three takeaways and an interception in the first match and also has three clearances in the two games.

Why Turkey Will Win

Turkey was a solid scoring team in the qualifiers. They scored in seven of their eight matches, with their only game missing a goal being against a solid Croatia team. Turkey scored 1.75 goals per game on average in qualifying. Still, they were a slow-starting team in qualifying marches. Their average time of the first goal was in the 53rd minute, waiting until halftime to often score their first goal of the game. Still, Turkey knew how to finish games strong. Of their 14 goals in qualifying, six of them came in the 75th minute or later, with 14 of them coming after the 60th minute of play.

The Turkey squad is young, with one of their primary goal scorers being 25-year-old Kerem Akturkogolu. He played in eight matches in qualifying, starting seven and scoring twice. Akturgolu was one of the men who forced the most action, shooting a team-leading 17 times, while having seven hit the target. HE now has three total shots, with two on target in the games with one goal. Arda Gueler and Mert Mulder have the other goals in these games for Turkey. Still, they are not the major pressure creators. Both of them have just three shots each with a combined three shots on target. Midfield Orkun Kokcu has been a major part of the attack. He has six total attempts, with two on target, two blocked, and two off-target so far.

It will be interesting to see who Turkey places in goal. Mert Gunok players in one game, making three saves and allowing a goal. Altay Bayindir played in the other, allowing three goals and just one save.

Final Czechia-Turkey Prediction & Pick

This game will come down to making the most of opportunities. Czechia will give Turkey opportunities to score, and if they can convert, they will win. Turkey has had some problems converting so far in these games, but they are producing the opportunities to get there. Expect both teams to score in this game, but Turkey to take the victory.
