Days Gone on the PC will have graphical upgrades, as we've reported before. There will be 4K support, UltraWide Monitor support, unlocked framerate, better models, and longer draw distances. However, there are two modern PC graphical features that it won't have: ray-tracing and DLSS.

Days Gone PC version will not have ray-tracing or DLSS

PC versions will always have better graphical options. That's already a standard now, and not having that will surely notch off some points on your review scores. Hence, it's great that Days Gone, just like any other PC re-releases, will have modern PC graphics options. However, it won't have ray-tracing and DLSS.

Ray-tracing has been the main standard of games when it comes to taking graphics to the extremes. The rendering technique produces incredibly realistic lighting effects, with its most effective use notably demonstrated in Resident Evil Village.  DLSS, on the other hand, helps create high-resolution graphics without having to use too much memory resources. While not having these two features doesn't mean it's going to be a bad game, players with high-end rigs will not be able to maximize their setup.

Sony fans will remember the disaster that was the Horizon Zero Dawn launch for PC last August 2020. Bend Studio, the developers behind Days Gone, won’t want to follow suit in that regard. Hopefully we don't get any bad flashbacks when Days Gone comes out later this month.

Days Gone will release on Epic Games Store and Steam on May 18, 2021.
