The infamous Dune worm popcorn bucket has a rival in the recently released Deadpool and Wolverine one.

Ryan Reynolds just revealed one of the first — of many, to be sure — R-rated merchandise for the upcoming movie on X (formerly Twitter): a popcorn bucket in the shape of Wolverine's head. The twist? He has his mouth wide open… where else would the opening be for you to grab the popcorn?

The video is set to Also Sprach Zarathustra from the 2001: A Space Odyssey soundtrack. It's reminiscent of how tech products are introduced, replete with moody lighting and the popcorn bucket on a lazy Susan.

As the Wolverine bucket rotates, it slowly gets filled with popcorn, the camera zooming on its features. And for the pièce de résistance: butter drizzles down its nose.

I wonder how Hugh Jackman feels about this.

The most likely culprit for what is sure to be a viral marketing ad is Reynolds' Maximum Effort company. It has been responsible for the uniquely creative ads for the Deadpool franchise since the beginning.

Marvel's Deadpool and Wolverine is shaping up — and is expected — to be one of the biggest movies this summer, and maybe even the year. It recently broke the record on the highest number of advanced ticket sales on any R-rated movie ever. It's only set to be the longest movie in the trilogy with a 127-minute run time.

The Shawn Levy-directed film also features Dogpool, a canon character in the Deadpool universe. She's played by the “Ugliest Dog in Britain” Peggy. The movie introduces a new villain in the form of Cassandra Nova, played by The Crown star Emma Corrin.

The film has gotten a lot of attention — more so than usual — regarding its rumored cameos. The trailer premiered at the Super Bowl LVIII. It broke a record as the most-watched trailer ever in the first 24 hours it was released, with 365 million views.

Maybe a Deadpool version as well?

Deadpool and Wolverine is also the first time that Wolverine dons his comic-accurate yellow suit. This prompted a “F**k yeah!” reaction from Jackman when he was approached about it. Even though the actor has played the character for 23 years and has appeared as Wolverine nine times, he usually is in black leather.

Even before the movie's trailer was released, rumors have swirled around who would make cameos. Taylor Swift has long been rumored to appear in the movie as the superhero Dazzler, for whom she's a dead ringer. Even Daniel Radcliffe's new workout regimen has gotten him ensnared in the rumors that he's also going to be in the movie. However, the pop superstar has kept mum and the actor has denied it.

As for the popcorn bucket, AMC Theatres hasn't given any information on how much it will cost.

The Dune: Part Two bucket costs $24.99 and quickly sold out due to its massive popularity. It was designed to look like the gigantic sandworms that reside in Arrakis.

While the Denis Villeneuve movie may have started the trend on inadvertently risqué popcorn buckets, but it's far from the first wacky film merchandise available. Since Wolverine has a bucket, I think Deadpool should have one too.

Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in cinemas July 26.
