Deadpool and Wolverine is already shaping up to be a chaotic introduction to the pair of heroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe between the pair's relationship and multiverse-hoping antics. The only thing that could make it more chaotic is more Deadpools, and the latest trailer continues to tease audiences with that very idea along with the inclusion of one of the heroes more popular variants from the comics.

To celebrate National Friendship Day, Marvel Studios dropped a new trailer centered on the violent and unstable “friendship” at the heart of Deadpool and Wolverine. The one shot that may stick out to some comic fans, though, is a tease of what appears to be Lady Deadpool, one of the most prominent and popular Deadpool variants introduced as part of the Deadpool Corps.

Lady Deadpool, also known as Wanda Wilson, was first introduced in a 2010 Deadpool comic that saw the merc with a mouth try to return a zombified, head-only variant of himself to the Marvel Zombies universe and inadvertently goes on a multiverse-hoping adventure. He eventually runs into Lady Deadpool in a world where she leads rebel forces against a fascist U.S. government led by General America.

Deadpool 3 gets funny 'Dogpool' update from Ryan Reynolds

Lady Deadpool proved so popular with readers that she was brought back as part of the Deadpool Corps, a motely team of Deadpools from across the multiverse tasked with saving it from an existential threat only they can combat. Despite Earth-616 Deadpool being cast as the team's leader, Lady Deadpool would often prove herself as capable, if not a better leader, than the Deadpool readers had come to know and love.

Her inclusion in Deadpool and Wolverine is another hint that the Deadpool Corps may also be making in appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Welcome to the Corps

The first hint that the team could be appearing in the film were behind the scene images showing Dogpool who, as the name implies, is a dog-variant of Deadpool. Fan speculation only increased when more images emerged showing Ryan Reynolds as an unmasked, unscarred, long-haried version of Deadpool speaking to the version fans are more familiar with.

Given the involvement of the Time Variance Authority, multiverse, and the End of Time from Loki, some fans can argue it would make sense to see Deadpool variants there along with some of the characters that appeared in 20th Century Fox's Marvel films. Jennifer Garner's Elektra and Aaron Stanford's Pyro have already been confirmed for the film, while Tyler Mane, Ray Park, and Kelly Hu have been rumored to be reprising their roles as Sabretooth, Toad, and Lady Deathstrike.

As for who could be playing Lady Deadpool, fans online immediately suggested the character could end up being played by none other than Blake Lively. Fans have speculated about the possibility of seeing Reynolds' significant other make even a brief appearance in the film, and the tease of Lady Deadpool saw some online immediately suggest this could be how Lively appears.

Deadpool and Wolverine is scheduled to release in theaters on July 26, 2024.
