The Miami Dolphins aren't going to be acquiring Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans, at least not right now. The Texans reportedly are keeping Watson on the roster, although he will be inactive, and it remains to be seen what his punishment is going to be as the investigation is still ongoing.

But, Dolphins head coach Brian Flores backed Tua Tagovailoa as the team's starter amidst all the Watson chatter, according to Jeff Darlington of ESPN.

So, Tua is the Dolphins quarterback, of course. However, is he the long-term answer? Last season, Flores repeatedly turned to journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick when Tua struggled and the Dolphins ended up just outside the playoff picture.

But, there have been talks about Dolphins owner Stephen Ross being the one who most wants to make a deal for Watson. Either way, Flores isn't buying into the chatter and is trying to give Tua his vote of confidence with the regular season right around the corner.

The Dolphins begin on September 12 against the New England Patriots, who just named former Alabama star Mac Jones as their starting quarterback, so the former Crimson Tide teammates will face off to begin the 2021 season.

Until Watson is dealt, the Dolphins will likely remain a possible destination.
