One of the NBA's most-awaited games of the season will be played on Thursday November 3rd at 7:30 pm ET on TNT.
Everyone's attention will be at Oracle Arena as Kevin Durant faces the Oklahoma City Thunder for the first time since joining the Golden State Warriors.
While most players say a contest of this magnitude is just another game in the grand scheme of things, Durant, however, isn't so coy and candidly tells USA Today Sports that he absolutely feels this game will be full of emotion, at least for himself.
When asked if this game will mean anything to him, Durant gave an answer as honest as he could.
“Hell yeah it will be. Yeah, it’s going to be emotional, seeing people on the sideline that I haven’t seen in a while. Yeah, it’s definitely going to be emotional, but I’ve got a job to do. I’ve got to go out there and be me in between the lines. I’d be a fraud if I go out there and say, ‘No, it’s not going to mean nothing. It’s just another game.’ It’s not. It’s not another game.”
Since his departure, media reports from everywhere have tried to pinpoint some area of angst between him and Thunder star Russell Westbrook, but both players continue to deny any rift.
Westbrook is a competitor and there is no doubt he wants to destroy Durant and his new team.
Many fans, and even some players, expressed critical remarks about Durant's move to the Warriors, and will be looking to cheer against Durant.
Then again, it's never that easy isn't it?
