Chris Pratt, who starred as the title character in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, indicates much more is to come.

It's not a shocker that another new movie based on the famous video game about a couple of plumbers who set out to save a princess would happen. After all, the first film was a massive success, bringing in over $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office. Also, Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the video game, stated last March that a new film was in development on Mario Day.

Now, Pratt has more to add to the excitement of sequels and more. During a chat with the actor, GamesRadar+ learned that he predicts there's a ton on the way.

“I can't tell you much, but I can say that there is another Mario movie coming,” the actor said. “It gets me very excited thinking about the world of Mario and Nintendo in general, I think over the next decade we will be seeing lots of stories coming out of that world.”

He added, “I was thrilled, honored, and blessed to be part of the first one, and moving forward, I'm open to doing as much and as little as they want from me. I can't say much, but I am just as excited as everyone else.”

Little is known about the sequel, but if everything goes as planned, it's expected to premiere on April 3, 2026, according to ScreenRant. That's three years after the original was released.

If Pratt comes back to play Mario, we could also see Anya Taylor-Joy return as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Meanwhile, Garfield is coming…

While we wait for a new Super Mario Bros., the actor is in cat mode with the release of Garfield.

He told ET all about how he prepared for the role and what it means to play everyone's favorite orange kitty.

“I just ate a lot of lasagna, I tried a few different things, and I realized that he sounds a lot like Andy from Parks and Rec,” Pratt said. “That was actually Mark [Dindal], our director's note. He said, ‘I think I know exactly what this guy sounds like. That character you play on Parks and Rec.' I was like, ‘Great, that's perfect.' Andy and Garfield are very similar.”

He's referring to Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation, an irresponsible and rather goofy character.

So, for now, catch Chris Pratt in Garfield when it hits the theaters on May 24.

We'll have to wait a while for the new Super Mario Bros. movies. However, with word from the top dogs behind the first film that more is coming, we can be pretty confident there will be.
