Before his tenth-anniversary show, Ed Sheeran is “relearning” Multiply.

The “Thinking Out Loud” singer took to Instagram Live to put on a special performance for fans. In the 87-minute live stream, Sheeran relearned songs from his 2014 studio album. He didn't guarantee that he'd keep the footage on his account, encouraging fans to “rip it” if they want to keep the audio.

“Me relearning Multiply on stream, might delete this in a few hours so rip it if you want to rip it, hope you enjoy,” his caption began. “If you want me to keep it up on here let me know x.”

The live stream began with a message from Sheeran. “I was relearning Multiply just now and I thought it'd be quite fun to live stream it, because a lot of these songs I haven't heard in 10 years,” Sheeran said at the beginning of his live stream. “And why not play the album in full on live stream?”

He then played “One,” Multiply's opening track and song he knows.

Ed Sheeran's Barclays Center show bombshells

On May 22, Sheeran will play a one-off gig at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, to celebrate Multiply's tenth anniversary. He will play the album in full. In the middle of the live stream, Sheeran revealed that the show will be filmed. Whether that's for an audio or video release remains to be seen.

Another bombshell that he dropped is that he's rehearsing the Wembley Edition of the album. The Wembley Edition of the album included “I See Fire” from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug soundtrack and “Lay It All on Me,” a song done in collaboration with Rudimental.

Other tracks from the Wembley Edition of Multiply include “All of the Stars,” “English Rose,” “Touch and Go,” and “New York.” It's unclear if Sheeran will play all of these during the show, but it'd be a treat if he did.

If nothing else, this live stream allowed Sheeran another chance to interact with his fanbase. The live stream allowed fans to hear songs that Sheeran may have never played or hasn't in several years since Multiply came out.

Multiply is Sheeran's second studio album released. It helped him launch his career after Addition, which featured the hit song “The A Team.” Multiply featured the likes of the Grammy-winning “Thinking Out Loud,” “Sing,” “Don't,” and “Photograph.”

“Thinking Out Loud” landed three Grammy nominations — Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Song of the Year. It took home two of those awards, Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year.

Ed Sheeran is currently commemorating all of his math symbol-titled albums on the “Mathematics” tour. The tour commenced in April 2022 and is due to conclude in September 2024.

Before he resumes the “Mathematics” tour, Sheeran has a few stops in North America. After his Multiply tenth anniversary show, Sheeran will play sets at the Boston Calling and BottleRock festivals. He will resume the “Mathematics” tour on June 8 with a show in Lucca, Italy.
