For decades now, fans have been treated to several versions of the Caped Crusader, both on film and television. Around a month ago, a new one came to life when Matt Reeves' vision for The Batman was released to theaters everywhere with Robert Pattinson playing the titular character. The good news here is that fans everywhere can catch the movie on HBO Max earlier than expected, which poses the risk of a mass absence from work.

Just recently, HBO confirmed that The Batman is set to premiere soon on April 18, which coincidentally falls on a Monday. This means that right after Easter, fans everywhere can choose to take an extended weekend and see Reeves and Pattinson's take on the Dark Knight as soon as possible.
This official announcement comes after several rumors pointing to an April 19 release. Fortunately, it comes a day earlier, much to the delight of everyone. It's also a welcome development since the film itself was released last March 4, or over a month ago.
Since then, Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson's DC debut has amassed more than $735 million at the box office and it's even earning more at this moment. This achievement is a first since Warner's decision to simultaneously release Wonder Woman 1984 to theaters and their streaming service.
For its part, The Batman has won over fans, thanks to a new version cooked up by Reeves and brought to life by Pattinson. The film also serves as a reboot of several key characters in the mythology of the Dark Knight, which includes Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, and the Joker. The latter saw its debut come in the form of a deleted scene, which saw Pattinson's Batman interrogate Barry Keoghan's Clown Prince of Crime.
While a sequel hasn't been confirmed by DC, fans can get their fix of this universe Reeves created very soon. Two spin-off series are on their way with Collin Farrell's Penguin and an Arkham Asylum-centric show currently being developed.
