Hot on the heels of high-profile collaborations with Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, Post Malone proves once again he's a musician of many genres and, like the lyrics of his new country anthem with Morgan Wallen proclaim, “Team work makes the dream work.”

Wallen and Post Malone teamed up for a new country song, “I Had Some Help” that dropped on Friday, in which the duo lament that they weren't the only ones to blame for failed recent relationships, but rather it takes two to tango, and they “had some help” from their exes.

Fans are singing Post Malone's praises for his country crooning, and highlighting how diverse and multi-talented his musical abilities are across genres. Malone rose to fame singing rap and pop-rap tunes like Sunflower and Better Now. More recently, he collaborated with Beyoncé on her Cowboy Carter country album, and with Taylor Swift on The Tortured Poets Department.

He has been teasing his own foray into country in recent months, and now finally fans are getting a taste of that new sound. Morgan Wallen remains one of the biggest names in country music at the moment despite courting controversy.

Most recently, Wallen was arrested for throwing a chair off the sixth floor rooftop of Eric Church's honky tonk bar in downtown Nashville, which landed near a group of police officers. A few years prior, Wallen was captured on camera casually using the N-word with friends. Fans seem to have stuck by his side despite these incidents, and it appears artists like Post Malone are too.

Post Malone sings the first verse of “I Had Some Help,” though he's almost unrecognizable at first in his new country look (until the viewer spots his familiar face tattoos). Post Malone dons suede boots, a Dallas baseball hat and a white button-down shirt with blue jeans and a brown jacket.

Morgan Wallen chimes in after the first chorus with his own tales of romantic woe.

Together, Wallen and Post Malone sing the catchy second chorus: “I had some help / It ain’t like I can make this kinda mess all by myself / Don’t act like you ain’t help me pull that bottle off the shelf / Been deep in every weekend if you couldn’t tell / They say, ‘Teamwork makes the dream work.' / Hell, I had some help.”

Early critical reaction to the collaboration has been largely positive from fans of each artist, with Post Malone especially being singled out for showing his range as a musician.

“Posty going country is the best thing that could’ve happened to this world,” said one YouTube commenter on the music video.

“The collab I never knew I needed,” proclaimed another.

A third commenter declared, “I literally love that Postie is multi-genre artist.”

Not that Post Malone needs any help to create hits at this point, but it certainly sounds like his collaboration with Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help” has paid off and highlighted his country music credentials.
