Marvel Studios is working on creating a live-action X-Men with Micahel Lesslie as possibly the scribe.
Lesslie is best known for penning Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes. Deadline reports he's in negotiations to write the new MCU film. This is all coming to life thanks to the success of Disney+'s X-Men '97.
About the new X-Men movie
It'll be a while until this film is put together. It currently doesn't have a director or much else. That said, it was one of the first projects to be placed in the works after last year's strikes. Kevin Feige and the executives stated that the film was in no hurry. However, since X-Men '97 is doing so well, this might make them move quicker.
X-Men '97 has some of the best reviews for any Marvel property in years and is a big streaming hit on Disney+. This sparks excitement for any new X-Men projects.
Also, the release of Deadpool & Wolverine in several weeks will surely fire up fans. The movie stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as the title characters and is bound to be a smash hit.
CBR reports Jackman recently told Rotten Tomatoes why he returned for the new film.

“I was on my way. I was just driving, and literally just like a bolt of lighting came this knowing, deep in my gut, that I wanted to do this film with Ryan, for Deadpool and Wolverine to come together,” Jackman said. “And I swear to you, when I said I was done, I really thought I was done.”
“But in the back of my head, ever since I saw Deadpool 1, I was like, ‘Those two characters together…' I knew it,” he added. “I knew the fans wanted it. Ever since I put on the claws fans have talked about these two, so that had always been there, but I just knew. I literally could not wait to arrive. As soon as I arrived, I rang Ryan and I said, ‘Let's do it.' Like, I hadn't rung my agent, no one. I had to ring my agent [after] and say, ‘Oh, by the way, I've just committed to a movie.'”
Reyolds also spoke of Hugh's return.
“Well, I mean, I think we can all now see that Hugh is a liar, you know?” the star joked. “A bald-faced horrible coward and a liar. Here he is, back again. You'll have to find out how he comes back because that's one of the most fun aspects of the movie.”
It's awesome to see action movies like X-Men and Deadpool & Wolverine coming out. After all, it has been declared that the death of superhero movies is here due to the lackluster films that have come out recently and their lack of enthusiasm. But it doesn't look that way moving forward. There's some good stuff ahead.
