The Atlanta Falcons are not fans of wasting time. Curtains closed for them after a blowout game that ended with infuriated heads against the New Orleans Saints. There was a huge decision to be made for this team after a lot of callouts from fans involving Desmond Ridder, Bijan Robinson, and Kyle Pitts. Finally, they came to a conclusion but it went at the expense of Arthur Smith.
The Falcons are on the hunt for a new head coach. They have just fired Arthur Smith after ending the season on 10 wins and seven losses. While some fans found it an odd choice, most keen-eyed observers would not see this as a shock.
A popular sentiment seems to be, “The coach of the team that barely used their three superstar offensive players properly is fired, shocker.”
Other members of the Falcons even blasted his tenure with the struggling squad, “3 straight 7-10 seasons. Which means either the team didn't improve, or the coaching stayed the same.”
Falcons fans and their Arthur Smith frustration
A huge example of how he had seemingly failed his players was his usage. For instance, Bijan Robinson's route-running was viewed as a waste after his rushing was not fully utilized. Kyle Pitts' elite hands were also not maximized in the Falcons offense. The wide receiver just got two receptions in a game where the Saints were leading by a lot.
Members of the Falcons faithful just could not help but rejoice with the firing, “GLORIOUS. The Falcons fired Arthur Smith!”
However, Smith did etch a mark before leaving the team, albeit one that was negative. He went scorched on earth and rushed to Dennis Allen after he failed to keep the Saints from scoring. There have been a lot of lapses in his stint with the Falcons and this may have been the perfect microcosm and culmination of it, via SportsGrid.
Some fans just could not help but feel terrible after what he did with the Falcons up to the last game day, “Bro was doing all that extra stuff earlier today just to get booted off the team.”
A new dawn is set for the Falcons. Hopefully, they find better personnel to take over.
