The Atlanta Falcons are going to do everything in their power to contend for a Super Bowl in the coming season. A key arrival is Kirk Cousins with his veteran acumen and canon for an arm. But, the progress of their young guns in Raheem Morris' system cannot be discounted. In fact, it could be Bijan Robinson who gives them the necessary spark while doing a little bit of everything. The plan? Well, it looks like they will emulate the same path as the San Francisco 49ers when they were getting Christian McCaffrey to acclimate to their squad.

Bijan Robinson to become more dynamic

The pathway that the 49ers took, and that the Falcons are placing themselves in, largely has to do with involving the running back in every play. Instead of Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson using Bijan Robinson purely just running off of handoffs from Kirk Cousins to gain yardage, he will have to receive the ball, run routes, and also block at times. Christian McCaffrey was used this way and it led the 49ers straight back to the Super Bowl.

Bijan Robinson knows that this is challenging. After all, he did the same job at Texas. He unveiled his thoughts on the new way that the Falcons are using him in his latest statement, via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

“I'm going to be more of a runner that does everything else. It's like running first, like I did in college. Then, still having that access to go to receiver, still having access to do creative things out of the backfield. More so how they use Christian McCaffrey in San Francisco,” the Falcons running back declared.

There will be times when fatigue definitely gets the best of him. Blocking on one snap, running on the other, and moving past linemen on the next will definitely get exhausting. But, one thing Falcons fans have learned is that Robinson has one of the best motors in the game. When that is combined with his shifty moves and high IQ, the plays that he will make will surely make everyone's jaw drop.

Robinson's Falcons stint so far

The rookie year Robinson had with the Falcons was not too bad. There were definitely some carries and catches that became highlights during that time. But, Coach Raheem Morris and the Kirk Cousins-led offense need him to be more efficient. They are still going to need his 976 rushing yards on a 43.5% success rate and 4.6 yards per rush to improve. He could even reach 1,000 yards next season if he wants to but that will definitely be harder given the amount of other things that he has to do on the field.

However, Robinson has shown some promise of being like Christian McCaffrey. He already notched a 71-yard reception which proves that he can jump and outrun secondaries. The fact that he also gives the Falcons an average gain of 8.4 yards per catch makes him all the more impressive. With the help of Kirk Cousins, they can surely execute this game plan for Robinson well.
