Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 3 is approaching fast and rumors of what's coming next are building up. Here's everything you need to know including the possible theme, leaks, release date, and more.

Fortnite is well known for wrapping up every season of its chapters with a bang. The last Chapter 5 Season ended with its Titan Hand and Earthquake event.  Players were delegated the task of breaking the chain binding the Pandora's box held by a titan hand. This event took place while players were in the middle of playing regular matches.

For the past six and a half years, Fortnite has given us 29 seasons (broken up into 5 chapters). Fortnite has been a source of various experiences for players with each season being unique from the one before. We have come so far from being a small game in Season 1, to whatever chaotic experience awaits us in the next season.

As of this writing, Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 2 is in its final course of 10 days before being wrapped up. Because of this, numerous predictions and rumors are rising as to what the next season has to offer.

Fortnite Season 3 Possible Theme

Following Medusa's questline in Season 2 where players have to render Zeus mortal and ultimately kill him, we should not expect that it wouldn't have any repercussions. With that, the storyline involving the Greek gods will reach its final resolution, and the Greek gods will be expelled or defeated. As a result, this storyline will come to an end, and Fortnite will transition into a new phase or chapter with the start of Season 3.

HYPEX, a leaker known for correctly predicting Fortnite updates, posted on X to summarize all of the Season 3 information and leaks.

Apparently, the theme for the upcoming season would be Post-Apocalyptic. There are also collaborations with Metallica, Fall Guys, and Pirates of the Caribbean waiting for us in Season 3.

The leaker also mentioned that there will be a UI update in which items in the Fortnite Shop will have individual timers. We can say that this update will be helpful and less controversial than the previous UI changes that upset the fans.

Leaker also mentioned that there will be a huge sandstorm and lightning mini-events in the upcoming update. This lines up with the following leaks, which he would later on reveal on social media.

Leak Shows Ominous Mount Olympus

14 hours before this writing, HYPEX shared an 8-second teaser video on X. The video shows Mount Olympus being covered with numerous lightning and mysterious dark clouds. It can also be seen that the gigantic statue on Mount Olympus has a set of glowing eyes, seemingly getting ready for some action.

Fans are quick to jump to conclusions as to what this could possibly mean. Some say that the whole map would end up like Asgard and be in complete ruins, just like in Thor Ragnarok. Others say that this is a foreshadowing of the coming of the blade of Olympus.

A leaked video was also shared on social media with regard to the one mentioned above. This video shows what could possibly happen on Mount Olympus after the dark clouds with lightning bolts started appearing.

The animation in the leak shows the statue raising its right arm wielding the sword up in the air. The statue then proceeds to point the blade up in the sky. It's speculated that the sword will be covered with lightning, just like the clouds.

As this statue is on top of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the Greek god Zeus, it really is possible that these speculations might be what really is bound to happen.

Leak Shows Sandstorm Forming

HYPEX shared another teaser video featuring an enormous sandstorm forming at the edge of the Fortnite map. This is posted a few minutes after the teaser video showing the Olympus Mountain statue.

This teaser video strongly suggests that the next season might have some few changes on the island. It gives us an idea that in the next season, the map could possibly be converted into a desert.

Furthermore, this sandstorm is not yet visible in the live version of Fortnite. Nevertheless, it is expected that it will be in the next few days before Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 2 ends.

All of these teaser videos are not showing much, but it surely is enough to lift the fans' spirits and make them more excited of what's to come in the next season. However, as of this writing, there are no official news and updates yet about what would really take place at the start of Season 3.

Alleged Fortnite 2024 Roadmap

Basically, this leak just gave us what the developers of Fortnite have planned for us this year. Although some of the aspects of this leak have happened (Billie Eilish, Star Wars, Avatar collab, etc.), it doesn't mean that all of the information above is true. There is always a chance that Epic Games will have a change of plans in the coming months.

Mad-Max Themed Season

Recent leaked files confirm that Season 2 will conclude with a series of challenges centered around the NPC Dummy and the Whiplash Wild Week. During this period, the spawn rate of Whiplash vehicles around the island will be significantly increased. This adds weight to the rumors that Season 3 will feature apocalyptic Mad Max themes, and suggests that Dummy may also be receiving a makeover.

It's important to note that there are still no official confirmations regarding the reality of the leaks mentioned above. With that being said, take everything with a grain of salt for the time being. The best course of action is always to wait for the official announcements so that we won't be disappointed if ever the leaks turned out to be false.

Of all these rumors and leaks, we have one official announcement from the Fortnite creators. The beans from Fall Guys along with various assets and animations, will be added to UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) in May 2024. A crossover event is likely to celebrate this launch, potentially aligning with the start of Season 3 later in the month.

Fortnite Season 3 Release Date

According to the Epic Games website, the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass will end on May 24, 2024, at 2 am ET. Most likely, the Fortnite Season 3 start date will also be on the 24th of May following the usual downtime of the transition.

It is important to note that there are no official announcements yet regarding the Fortnite Season 3 release date. It is also unlikely that there will be a live event for this, as live events seem to be reserved for the conclusion of chapters.

How Much Is The Season 3 Battle Pass

Fortnite is a free-to-play game, but just like any other game, real money can be spent for aesthetic purposes. There is this thing called Battle Pass where players pay real money to obtain exclusive items and accessories. These items and accessories cannot be obtained or unlocked any other way.

The Season 3 Battle Pass will likely be available for purchase for the usual 950 V-bucks. This means that the smallest bundle available in the Fortnite Shop will be enough to exchange for a battle pass.

V-Bucks Prices in Fortnite Shop

V-Bucks are Fortnite in-game currencies that can be used to purchase new customization items and accessories in the Fortnite Shop. The items can be used in Fortnite Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, or Rocket Racing, as well as additional content like Battle Pass every season.

1,000 V-Bucks – $8.99

2,800 V-Bucks – $22.99

5,000 V-Bucks – $36.99

13,500 V-Bucks – $89.99

Additionally, players can also get V-Bucks for free by leveling up with experience points through completing quests. As players level up, the Battle Pass system would have at least 100 V-bucks free to claim. If the player purchases the Battle Pass, all of its components will be accessible. However, if spending real money on a mere video game is not for you, you can stick with logging in more hours to complete quests. Sure, it would take a lot of hours of gaming to get that much V-bucks, but hey, free is free!

Overall, this is all the information we have regarding the upcoming Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite.
