When returning to The Golden Apple Archipelago, The Traveler finds an abandoned easel in front of a Dodofortress on the Archipelago's final island. Amazingly, interacting with the abandoned easel will start a mini-game! This mini-game will have you destroy Dodofortress, but no weapons allowed! To defeat the Dodofortress, you will have to return the Kaboomballs they launch at you using a Dodoguard. To do this, you simply have to hit the attack button as the Kaboomballs approach you.
There are six different kinds of Kaboomballs:
- Foggy-Groggy Ball – A dirty Kaboomball. If you are hit and are unable to return it, it will create a dust clout that obstruct vision!
- Super-Simple Ball – An ordinary Kaboomball. Use it to assault the Dodofortresses!
- Chilly-Frilly Ball – A cold Kaboomball. If you are hit and are unable to return it, characters will be affected by Cryo and their movements will be slowed!
- Breezy-Burny Ball – A Kaboomball of great power. Reflect it towards Dodofortresses to deal greater DMG!
- Natter-Chatter Ball – An intriguing Kaboomball…? After a successful return shot, the Dodofortress will fire 3 Kaboomballs in quick succession!
- Twisty-Turny Ball – A real stunner of a ball that even pros find hard to throw. It boasts a highly unpredictable flight trajectory!
The Dodofortress will sometimes generate a shield. You will have to make a perfect return to destroy the shield and damage it again with Kaboomballs. The easiest way to do a perfect return is to hit the Kaboomball on your side as they pass by you. Never approach Kaboomballs head-on as it's harder to hit them that way.
Why play in this Event? What are the Prizes?
Just like most of Genshin Impact‘s limited-time events, you get a lot of rewards from Kaboomball Kombat. Kaboomball Kombat has several challenges for you to complete – most of which will automatically be finished just by playing Kaboomball Kombat twice. There are three stages in this event, each of which will unlock every two days. Right now, the only open stage is the first one, and the Enigma Gears you can get completing challenges during this stage are enough to net you 300 Primogems.
The event's Rewards Shop will let you earn a lot of prizes. The Enigma Gears you collect by completing the first stage challenges will be enough to get you 240 Primogems plus a little more. From Stage 1 challenges, you can collect a total of 1,400 Enigma Gears. In the Event Shop, you can get 60 Primogems in exchange for 200 Enigma Gears, up to four times. Then, completing the first three challenges in Stage 1 will actually net you a bonus of 60 Primogems, for a total of 300 Primogems in total.
There won't be any more additional purchasable Primogems from the Event Shop, but we think Stage 2 and 3 challenges will reward even more Primogems. Collect all of the Enigma Gears and you will be swimming in Mora and Talent Enhancement Materials by the time the Event ends.
Kaboomball Kombat Limited-Time Event will be up until July 12, 4 AM.
