Thoma is a well-known character in Genshin Impact, who helped the Traveler manage their way at the start of the Inazuma arc. A couple of versions later, he finally arrives as a playable character, ready to support our teams and provide amazing utility that can’t be found anywhere else. Thoma is a 4-star character that appears along with Hu Tao’s rerun banner, another character who’s considered to be one of the best meta choices in the current game. Being a 4-star character means he’s relatively easier to get than the 5-star ones, and getting Constellations might be reasonable due to the nature of 4-star pulls being easily obtainable. If you’re trying to decide whether to pull for our Inazuman fixer or not, this article will be your guide.
Why you should pull for Thoma
Thoma is a swiss army knife kind of a support, who can provide durable shields, damage, energy, and Pyro application, all at the same time. His unparalleled utility means he can perform exceptionally well as an all-around support, as long as you invest resources into him. His banner is also stacked, which also includes Hu Tao, a top-tier carry, Sayu, a flexible anemo support who can heal, and Diona, another swiss army knife support who provides shields, healing, energy, and Cryo application.
Thoma’s constellations are one of a kind, and even probably the only character in which each of the constellations providing extreme value. Obtaining multiple copies of Thoma significantly increases his supportive capabilities, and is recommended if you have primogems to spare. Here are more reasons why you should pull for Thoma:
- You like Thoma’s character and/or design
- You want to have more great support characters in your roster (Thoma, Sayu, Diona)
- You need a good Pyro applicator or an extra Pyro sub-DPS
- You like using Polearm users in general
Why you should not pull on Thoma’s Banner
Article Continues BelowTo be honest, there’s not a lot of reasons for skipping the banner, except for concerns regarding personal preference. However, Thoma can still appear outside of the banner, unlike Hu Tao, so players don’t need to worry about missing out for a long time. If you have other priorities to spend your primogems on, missing out this banner won’t be too bad, since there are also a lot of other amazing Pyro supports out there, like Xiangling and Bennett. Here are a couple more reasons why you might want to skip this banner:
- You do not like Thoma’s character and/or design
- You want to save all your primogems for a future character, like Albedo or Itto
- You don’t want to pull for the other characters in the banner
Overall, Thoma is an amazing character who definitely won’t disappoint the moment you get him. He’s somewhat similar to the likes of Xingqiu and Xiangling, who are extremely relevant in today’s meta, and will be for a very long time. This banner is probably one of the best banners in the game since release, and beginner players will have a blast during this time.
