Another weekend competition for Super Smash Bros Ultimate has come and gone. This time with the Collision 2022 tournament which took place at North Bergen, New Jersey from March 12th to 13th. Many competitors took to the stage this weekend including the usual favorites such as MKLeo (T1), Tweak (TSM), Kola, Goblin, and Light (Moist), Riddles, and more, as well as other strong contenders such as Sparg0, Cosmos, Elegant, Chag (Cryme), Gluttony (Solar), BigBoss (MK) and several others.

While the usual crowd favorites were expected to take the lead, this tournament managed to end with yet another upset, as Sparg0, who performed amazingly during the recent Ultimate Summit IV, managed to take 1st place once against his main character, Cloud Strife, competition against Tweek and his character Diddy Kong for the top spot. With his amazing plays and awareness to adapt to his opponent's playstyle, Sparg0 managed to coast through the entire competition, only dropping one set against Tweak in the grand finals after a 3-0 reset.

Before his latest competition victory, Sparg0 has made note that he had a lot of doubt in mind using Cloud as his primary character for the tournament and considered falling back onto his main pick, Prya/Mythra. After his victory, however, he now believes that his Cloud game is now his best character, as other commentators soundly agree.

It really seems like Sparg0 has been on a roll lately, as many have suggested that this competitor from Mexico is poised to become the next top player in the Super Smash Bros Ultimate competitive scene. Even though MKLeo is still seen as the top player to beat, his competitive dominance seems to have been waning recently. He has even gone on to suggest that Sparg0 is getting closer and closer to taking his place. Of course, MKLeo still has plenty of fight left in him, so the tides could turn very easily within the coming months.
