Brian Daboll will make his debut as an NFL head coach with the New York Giants this season. The former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator will have a lot of work to do.

With an uncertain quarterback situation, a poorly constructed offensive line and a group of running backs and wide receivers that is banged up, Daboll will hope to complete a total metamorphosis on New York's dismal offense. He is set to bring in Mike Kafka, the quarterback coach/passing game coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, to be his OC.

Kafka has spent the past five seasons with the Chiefs, including the last two in his current role. He spent six seasons as an NFL backup quarterback, appearing in just four games in his career, all with the Philadelphia Eagles. As a player and coach, he has spent significant time under Andy Reid's wing.

The development of Patrick Mahomes makes Kafka's work incredibly notable, as does the Chiefs' remarkable passing attack in Mahomes' career. The Giants, obviously, aren't close to the Chiefs in terms of talent. But Kafka's familiarity with high-level players and coaches bodes well for his ability to help fix the Giants. Although it will be on the front office to get the right players, Kafka's experience should make him a strong fit alongside Daboll.

For at least Daboll's first season, Daniel Jones will likely be the starting quarterback. With Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay, Kafka will have a decent group of players to work with. Just how far the Giants go next season will be determined by how much improvement the offense can make as a whole.
