Amid the whirl of head coach firings that occurred across the NFL on Monday, one coach managed to cling onto his job despite a vast array of fans calling for his ousting. Well, fans hoping for a late announcement regarding Joe Judge's future with the New York Giants may be disappointed by the latest reports. Per Josina Anderson, Judge held a meeting with the team during which he informed them that he was still the Giants' head coach.

Anderson reports that Judge led a 12:00 pm meeting on Monday and told the team that he was maintaining his role as head coach. He reportedly acknowledged his shortcomings and need for “self-evaluation” before declaring the Giants would be a threat in 2022. He then entered a meeting with Giants' ownership, including GM John Mara.

This is certainly not the news Giants fans were hoping for, should the reports be accurate. After a 4-13 season full of questionable decision-making and lackluster offensive play, fans in New York were hoping changes were coming to the coaching staff. After Dave Gettleman announced his decision to retire, there was a level of hopefulness among fans that Judge's departure would be the next domino to fall.

Per Anderson's reports, that won't be the case, and Giants fans will have to endure another year of Judge's leadership. Across two seasons as the Giants' skipper, Judge has posted a dismal 10-23 record. He's quickly lost the support of the fan base, but it seems ownership hasn't lost faith in the former Patriots special teams coordinator. Judge's seat will certainly be scalding hot in 2022, but as things stand, the Giants' job is his to lose.
