The New York Giants are getting quite a boost in time for their Monday Night Football showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11. According to reports, Saquon Barkley is expected to play in their visit to Tampa Bay.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN noted that Barkley is a full-go against the Buccaneers unless he suffers a setback from his ankle injury. The star running back has been out since sustaining the injury in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys, but his long wait could be over soon.

Saquon Barkley has returned to practice recently, and while it was on a limited capacity, it still raised hopes that he could suit up for the team in time for their duel with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

For what it's worth, Barkley did express his frustration about his injury and his long time on the sidelines. After all, they never thought it would cost him at least five games into the season. But now that his return is near, he is keeping a positive mindset.

“I think at first no one thought that (it was going to be that long), but when the MRIs came back, obviously we knew it was going to be a little more difficult than we thought,” Barkley said on Friday, per Pro Football Talk. “I’ve just been keeping my head down and coming to work every single day.”

There is still no official update on Barkley's status for Monday, but if he plays, he'll be a huge addition to a Giants team looking to win back-to-back contests for the first time this 2021. New York is 3-7 on the campaign, but they won their last game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
