The New York Giants just couldn't catch a break. Amid a horrible 2-5 start to the 2021 season, the team got another bad news Tuesday after it was revealed that safety Jabrill Peppers is out for the rest of the season.

In its official announcement, the Giants confirmed that Peppers has been placed on the Injured Reserve list with two injuries to his right leg. The veteran safety has a ruptured ACL in his knee and a high ankle sprain.

Peppers sustained the injury during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, putting a stop to what was a phenomenal display where he sacked Sam Darnold. While the team won the contest 25-3, it came with a cost.

Jabrill Peppers' injury came at the worst time for the Giants, who have already lost offensive lineman Nick Gates and middle linebacker Blake Martinez to various season-ending injuries. With that said, Joe Judge will have to dig deep to his roster as they try to turn the season around.

As for Peppers, the injury is also bad news for him as he is set to become a free agent after the 2021 campaign. Before his devastating injury, he has recorded 30 total tackles and one sack in five starts.

It remains to be seen how the Giants will address their injury woes, but the Judge and Co. certainly need to look for a solution rather quickly as their chances to compete for the playoffs are decreasing day by day.
