Golden Boy Promotions has finally broken its silence after Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney accused the firm of not giving them their share of payments for their PPV earnings.

Garcia and Haney fought last April in a no-bearing super lightweight bout after the former missed weight. Still, it was an exciting showdown that ended in majority decision in favor of Garcia.

About two months since the battle, however, the 25-year-old Garcia is claiming that he hasn't received his PPV money. In a now-deleted post on X, he wrote: “Still no payment, GBP and DAZN?” Haney, for his part, reposted the message from his rival and said, “Same.”

“Nah I need my money now,” Garcia wrote in a follow-up post. He added, “Even if you don't like me, the fact I haven't received payment for my fight is messed up.”

Golden Boy Promotions issues statement

In response to the call-out from Garcia and Haney, Golden Boy released a rather harsh statement addressing the issue. While the promotion admitted that it still hasn't given both fighters their full share of PPV earnings, it's actually stated in their contract that the payments will be made in batches as the money comes in.

Golden Boy then went full savage mode, adding that Garcia and Haney might benefit more from reading their contracts rather than focusing too much on social media. Yikes!

“As we have always done with all our fighters, Golden Boy paid Ryan and Devin exactly what they are owed under their contracts. As with all PPV events, revenue comes in over time and additional payments will be made when more money is received. If they aren't aware of this fact, we would hope that their managers are. Or perhaps Ryan and Devin should pay more attention to their contracts than their social media feeds,” Golden Boy Promotions explained, via Robert Littal of BSO.

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have yet to respond to Golden Boy's statement. It will be interesting to see, however, how they address the snide remarks from the promotion.

Ryan Garcia in more trouble

By the looks of it, though, it's unlikely that Garcia will be able to respond to Golden Boy's statement. And it's probably not his focus right now despite his desperate attempt to get his money.

For those who missed it, Garcia was arrested on Saturday afternoon due to felony vandalism. He was seen being escorted out of Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, handcuffed, wearing a helmet and without a shirt. Apparently, he damaged his room and the hallway, leading to the arrest.

“Law enforcement sources tell us the boxer was arrested and taken into custody after he allegedly damaged property at the hotel, including his room and the hallway,” the TMZ report stated. “In California, any damage over $400 can be considered a felony.”

It should be noted, however, that Garcia “complied with authorities and went peacefully” despite seemingly being “under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.”

In a statement released by his lawyer, it was also confirmed that Beverley Hills police brought him to a hospital to get checked. He could also be charged with public intoxication as a result of his actions.

“[Ryan] was taken by the BHPD to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment and to our knowledge, may be charged with public intoxication,” Darin Chavez, Garcia's attorney, said.

It remains to be seen what will happen to Garcia next, but his recent behavior is definitely bound to raise plenty of concerns.
