The Charlotte Hornets are ready to surprise the league heading into opening night on October 25th against the Atlanta Hawks. As they prepare, it seems like their confidence across the room, but more specifically, from Terry Rozier.

“I feel amazing man,” Rozier said. “It's been a long offseason, probably the longest offseason since I've been in the league. I could speak for us all that we're all excited to get back out there and play for one another.”

Rozier is heading into year nine and is coming off a year where he averaged a career-high 21 points per game. He is one of their go-to options on the offense end and with a healthy LaMelo Ball and the rest of the group coming back, his numbers should only improve overall. Whether that be as a scorer or playmaker, his decision on that end of the floor will be invaluable for a young team trying to find their way.

Speaking of finding their way, the Hornets have yet to piece together a successful since 2016-2017 when they made the postseason. Fortunately for them, Rozier feels like this year should be different.

“We all bought in from the beginning,” Terry Rozier continued. “Being here weeks before the season started. We have that leadership all around. Obviously there's been a lot of noise, but it's apart of the game. We got a great locker room and I think we're great at blocking out the noise.”

That noise that Rozier is referring to is the Hornets' expectations. Charlotte is projected to be one of the worst teams in the Association and is on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff picture. Despite having a pretty young talented roster, no one outside of the city is optimistic about what this team might be able to do moving forward into the season. There's nothing left to do but see where this young squad ends up in this wide-open Eastern Conference.
