When the Jacksonville Jaguars took DJ Chark in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, they were expecting a lot more from him than just 14 catches during his rookie campaign.

Well, he has already far exceeded that in is sophomore season, as the wide receiver has already hauled in 27 receptions for 485 yards and five touchdowns through five weeks.

Of course, part of Chark's success is also due to the fact that the Jaguars actually have a quarterback this season, as rookie Gardner Minshew has been very impressive since taking over for the injured Nick Foles in the first quarter of Week 1.

Minshew loves what Chark has been doing, and he says he is going to continue to feed the second-year wide out the football.

″He is playing so good, making so many big plays,″ Minshew said, according to John Reid of The Florida Times-Union. ″He is playing with a lot of confidence. I trust him. I am going to give him every opportunity to make plays.″

Most recently, Chark logged eight catches for 164 yards and a couple of touchdowns in a Week 5 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and in five games, the 23-year-old has not caught less than four passes once.

Chark did not have an incredibly productive collegiate career at LSU, as he totaled just 66 receptions for 1,351 yards and six scores during his time with the Tigers.

But with great size and terrific speed, the Alexandria, La. native has all of the tools needed to be a top wide receiver at the NFL level.
