The Jacksonville Jaguars' offense needs a significant boost, and they feel that Gary Kubiak could be the man who helps get it going.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jaguars are interested in Kubiak for their vacant offensive coordinator position.
Kubiak has spent the last couple of years in the Denver Broncos' front office and was expected to become the Broncos' offensive coordinator next season, but new Denver head coach Vic Fangio wants to bring in his own guys.
The 57-year-old has plenty of experience as an offensive coordinator, as he served as the Broncos' offensive play-caller from 1995 through 2005, helping the team win two Super Bowls with John Elway at quarterback.
Kubiak then later returned to Denver in 2015 as a head coach, leading the franchise to another Super Bowl with Peyton Manning under center.
He earned his first NFL coaching job in 1994, when he served as quarterbacks coach for a San Francisco 49ers team that was quarterbacked by Steve Young and ended up winning it all.
So, Kubiak has four Super Bowls under his belt.
He also served as head coach of the Houston Texans from 2006 through 2013 and briefly held a post as Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator in 2014 before returning to the Mile High City.
Kubiak owns a lifetime head-coaching record of 82-75 (87-77 including playoffs).
The Jaguars parted ways with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in late November and finished just 27th in the league in total offense this season, averaging a mere 302 yards per game. They also posted just 15.3 points per game, good for the second-worst mark in the NFL.
