Trevor Lawrence's fourth quarter exit on Monday Night Football against Cincinnati Bengals sparked a lot of concerns regarding his status moving forward. Fortunately, it looks like the Jacksonville Jaguars QB is trending in a positive direction when it comes to his injury.

Lawrence suffered an apparent ankle injury in the final quarter of the contest, and the way he sustained it looked gruesome. The 24-year-old signal-caller was surveying the field as he looked to pass the ball, but unfortunately, it was halted when teammate and offensive tackle Walker Little accidentally stepped on his right ankle. Lawrence's ankle twisted awkwardly, and making matters worse, the QB himself fell on his ankle.

Obviously, Lawrence was in pain after the incident and had to be helped off the field. He didn't return in the game as the Jaguars fell to the Bengals in overtime, 34-31.

There have been plenty of concerns about Lawrence's status for the remainder of the season, with many fearing he could be sidelined for some time considering the way he injured his ankle. Head  coach Doug Pederson also didn't have much to say about Lawrence's injury, only saying that they will evaluate him further–thereby also increasing the fans' worries.

For what it's worth, however, the updates on Lawrence appeared to be mostly positive. For one, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network shared that Trevor Lawrence was “in the locker room with teammates telling them about his ankle injury. A couple left him smiling after update and he seems in good spirits.”

“Nothing wrapped on his right ankle and he's standing on his own on that ankle. He does have crutches on ground for support,” Wolfe furthered.

Meanwhile, other reports noted that Lawrence suffered an ankle sprain, though the severity of it have yet to be determined. That still counts as a positive outcome since it doesn't seem Lawrence tear a ligament.

“Initial testing showed that Jaguars' QB Trevor Lawrence sprained his ankle, per source. Lawrence is scheduled to undergo additional testing tonight and Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury and how much time he will miss,” Adam Schefter of ESPN added.

It has yet to be revealed how severe Lawrence's injury is. While it's likely he'll miss some games, the good thing is it doesn't seem to be a season-ending issue. Hopefully, further tests will confirm that.
