Jennifer Lopez wasn't in the mood to answer a question about her rumored divorce from Ben Affleck at a press junket for her upcoming Netflix film Atlas. Lopez also had some help shutting down the personal prying thanks to her Atlas co-star, Simu Liu.

The two were fielding questions in Mexico City on the press junket tour for Atlas, an action film that Netflix hopes will be another blockbuster for the streamer.

“Your divorce with Ben Affleck is real? What is the truth?” a reporter can be heard asking, in a video posted to X/Twitter by Glamour México y Latinoamérica.

“OK, we’re not doing that,” Liu quickly chimed in. “Thank you so much. We really appreciate it … come on, don’t come in here with that energy” (clearly this wasn't Big Ken Energy, a natural resource Simu Liu is much more fond of).

Lopez then scolded the reporter, “You know better than that.”

Another video captured at the junket reveals the questioning abruptly ended after the line-crossing question, though Liu stepped in to get the last word.

Liu pivoted the conversation, wanting to end the junket on a high note, by heaping his praise on Jennifer Lopez as a producer on Atlas.

“If I can just end on one thing,” Liu said to the gathered reporters. “Jen is a producer on this movie and the reason why I am here and the reason Sterling [K. Brown] is in this beautiful movie is because Jen cares. Jen cares about things like representation and diversity. Jen is a boss.”

According to the Netflix logline for Atlas, the film centers on “a brilliant counterterrorism analyst with a deep distrust of AI [who] discovers it might be her only hope when a mission to capture a renegade robot goes awry.”

Lopez plays the lead role of the analyst. In addition to Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown, the film also stars Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong.

Divorce rumors have been swirling surrounding Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck for over a week now, ever since In Touch first reported the alleged divorce plans. The couple, dubbed “Bennifer” during their first run as a high-profile celebrity couple in the early 2000s, caused a social media stir when they got back together in 2021 and married the following year.

But multiple sources are now reporting on the two apparently living separately, and they haven't been seen together in public in some time.

Whatever the status of her relationship with Ben Affleck is at the moment, Jennifer Lopez was in no mood to discuss it on a press tour for her new Netflix film Atlas, and with the help of her co-star Simu Liu, she didn't have to deflect much attention from the anticipated action film, which starts streaming on Friday.
