Julio Arce is set to fight Song Yadong at the upcoming UFC Vegas 42 on Saturday. The bout comes after he made his successful return in July against Andre Ewell.

Julio Arce is currently preparing for his UFC fight and part of that means eating plenty of protein. Chicken is a staple but steak is something you commonly see as well.

“It's a mix of everything,” Julio Arce told ClutchPoints on his current diet. “Some days I have steaks. Some days I have fish. Some days I have chicken. Some days I have, you know, like was it all the you know, like, just be whatever it's like it's a it's a mix of everything. So it's like I'm not eating just chicken and there's like, I'm eating different meals. And I'm enjoying it. It doesn't feel like oh my god I'm eating chicken, rice and vegetables every day! Torture. Every meal is different. Every meal tastes amazing. And I get to enjoy it.”

The UFC bantamweight mentioned steak as part of his diet. Julio Arce needed to clarify how his steak was cooked before going any further.

“I'm on the medium rare. Medium rare.”

The answer is a respectable one anything cooked beyond medium is simply a crime against steaks. The UFC fighter had some choice words for people who like their steak well done.

“Why the hell would I have a well done steak? That's like might as well have plastic. It's like you want the juices and the tenderness. It just makes it's perfect, though sometimes you want your steak a little on the rare side, but I don't mind that either. Like it depends, but I just… I don't know. Well done? Nah.”

The cooking of the steak is very important but so is the steak itself. The New Yorker had a very obvious answer for the kind of steak he enjoys. UFC fighters have a very limited diet so it's important not to waste it.

“You know, like, a New York Strip, a Ribeye, like what was it called? A tomahawk steak? Oh, yeah! Those are gooood! If you go to the right spot. You can't go wrong with a steak at any point.”

Julio Arce will be eating plenty of steaks as he prepares to take on Song Yadong on Saturday. UFC Vegas 42 is right around the corner.
