Khloe Kardashian is sharing how her relationship with her ex Tristan Thompson is now. The Good American founder was a guest on the She MD podcast this week where she said that the NBA star is an “incredible father” despite their relationship not working out.
Kardashian and Thompson dated from 2016-2021 off and on due to the NBA star's cheating. Weeks before the birth of their daughter True, the NBA star was caught on video in a Washington DC hookah lounge with two women in 2017. Thompson also cheated on Khloe with Jordyn Woods in February 2019. Woods is the best friend of Khloe's younger sister Kylie Jenner. Thompson apologized to Kylie — along with Kourtney — last season on The Kardashians.
“I think you were affected most by the situation with losing a sister, basically. You lost Jordyn, who’s a big part of your life, and I know how much she meant to your life and your guys’ connection,” Thompson told Jenner during the episode. “You guys were like two peas in a pod. And the fact that I put her and myself in a situation that wasn’t right and wasn’t smart. ‘Cause at the end of the day you have your best friend, and you have your sister who you love more than anything else, so it’s 100 percent on me.”
Kylie responded positively to his apology, adding that she and Woods are still cool, “I appreciate that. I think I was so co-dependent that I could have never imagined my life without her. We would have probably still been living together. And I think she needed to grow without me. I needed to grow without her. But Jordyn and I are cool. We still talk and catch up.”

The NBA star also fathered a child with Maralee Nichols in December 2021 right before Khloe and him welcomed their son Tatum via surrogate.
“He did make mistakes,” the reality star told SHE MD hosts Dr. Thais Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney. “He's the nicest guy and we get along so well now. We're not meant to be together, but he was meant to be the father of these kids. And we do get along so well and I'm really grateful for that because my parents got along so well.”
On The Kardashians, Thompson noted that while his children are young he is going to have to explain himself.
“I’m a firm believer that if you make a mistake, you have to be accountable for it and stand on two feet. You do the crime, ya gotta own it,” the professional basketball player said at the time.
“I want to be a good example for them,” Thompson said of his children, adding that he's acknowledged to Khloé that he knows that it's his responsibility to be honest with their children. “I always tell Khloé, when it comes to True and having that conversation, it's on me to have that conversation, because Daddy failed you and Mommy…Mommy didn’t fail you.”
