The New York Knicks have signed forward Marcus Morris to a one-year, $15 million deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

This comes at the heels of the Reggie Bullock signing, who recently agreed to a two-year deal for less than $4.7 million of the room exception, allowing for Morris' deal to come at the back of it.

Morris previously had an agreement in place with the San Antonio Spurs, concurring on a two-year, $20 million pact. Yet the opportunity to link up with the Knicks for 75% of that salary in one year and be able to hit free agency again in 2020 was an opportunity he and his representatives didn't want to walk away from.

The Knicks now have four power forwards in the roster, including Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, and Morris. Those four will likely be shuffled between different positions through the course of the season, as all four are expected to get some playing time under David Fizdale.

Morris could likely shift to the small forward spot due to his 3-point shooting ability and creativity off the dribble, while playing his natural four-spot from time to time.

His signing would further help a team that is trying to grow through a culture of diligence and work ethic, traits that Morris has kept since breaking into the league after being drafted out of Kansas in 2011.

While his positional fit with the team is still in question, Morris should be a plug-and-play option off the bench as a capable shooter and defender — two areas the Knicks struggled with last season.
