The summer of 2019 could be a wild one, with multiple free agents set to hit the market that could be in search of new teams, and one of those players is Kevin Durant.

According to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report, sources around the league believe there is a real possibility that if Durant decides against staying with the Golden State Warriors, he could end up signing with the New York Knicks.

The Knicks have already been considered as one of the main teams considered a realistic franchise that could pull off a trade for Anthony Davis.

Whether before the Feb. 7 deadline or in the offseason, if New York is able to make a trade and land Davis, that would only strengthen the odds that Durant comes to the Big Apple.

Much of their plans to land a star are contingent upon how their 2019 first round pick conveys following the draft lottery. Despite weakened odds for the worst team in the league to win the first overall pick, the 10-39 currently have some of the best shots at getting to pick first overall.

With a top-heavy draft in store for the league, a pick that is very likely to become Duke’s Zion Williamson could be a heft bargaining chip in conversation with New Orleans for Anthony Davis.

It has been some time now since the New York Knicks have seen some optimism within the franchise. Kristaps Porzingis has been a beacon of hope at times, but with recent health concerns, that has been muddled a bit.

A real chance at bringing a marquee star like Durant or Davis could help get the Knicks back on the map- something the NBA has been waiting for now for a while.
