The Los Angeles Lakers had an early playoff exit just months after winning an NBA title. A first-round matchup against the Phoenix Suns was too much to overcome, especially after a tough injury to Anthony Davis loomed large for the Lakers. James recently made an appearance on Road Trippin, and was asked about his former teammates, specifically Kyrie Irving.
James' answer might shock some people.

Wow. James says that Davis is more gifted than Irving, and that is a bold statement. On the other hand, he elaborated his answer a bit, but still.
Davis is a freak of nature, and when healthy, he has a legitimate case for a top-5 player in the league and the Lakers pairing of Davis and James is lethal. Irving is also a top player and has taken the NBA by storm.
To be fair, both players have legitimate cases, and to pick between one is extremely hard. Perhaps James took Davis because they are both on the Lakers?
Either way, Irving might be irked by the comments after being alongside James during their tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers and being a huge reason for their NBA Championship against the Golden State Warriors.
Both the Lakers and Nets are out of the playoffs after Irving got injured and the Nets lost in a seven-game series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Interesting answer from LeBron James, one that should make Anthony Davis smile a little bit as the Lakers hit the offseason looking to bounce back next season.
