Los Angeles Lakers veteran shooting guard Danny Green reiterated his stance that resuming the 2019-20 NBA season will do more good than harm for the ongoing protests against racism and social injustices. In fact, he believes teammate Avery Bradley will benefit more from it than anyone else.

Bradley, along with Kyrie Irving and Dwight Howard, has opposed the timing of the return of the NBA in Orlando amid the current social climate. However, in an interview with Caron Butler in honor of Juneteenth, Green emphasized his previous point that players can use the NBA restart to bring the focus to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Lakers swingman even used Bradley as an example, highlighting that his teammate will have an even bigger platform to express his thoughts compared to merely posting on social media.

“Like Avery Bradley, he's one of the guys who has spoken out, but he doesn't really have social media, so [people] don't really know how he feels, they're not really able to see and hear it from him,” Danny Green said, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN. “But if he goes down to Orlando he's going to have to do interviews. He's going to have a hell of a game one of these nights or a hell of a quarter, and he's going to have to talk to the media. …

“For guys that don't have social media, or guys that don't have a big following, it's a better way for everybody to be there and be united. We also can have more meetings down there and take that and use that platform to our advantage to keep our foot on the gas and blow it up even bigger, if necessary, because if we're all together it speaks to higher volumes than if we are separated in different parts of the country.”

Bradley and Irving recently spearheaded a call with roughly 80 players addressing their concerns about the NBA restart, although the consensus appears that most of the players on the 22 teams invited back to resume the season will indeed play.

Green, a 32-year-old two-time NBA champion with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors, joined the Lakers last offseason via free agency in the hopes to help LeBron James and Anthony Davis win a title.

It has been a strange season, but Green and the Lakers will look to resume their season that went on hiatus mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
