Isaiah Thomas made headlines after his astounding 81-point performance at the Seattle Pro-Am circuit. The buzz that his play generated eventually got him some looks on the NBA radar, including a rumored workout with the Los Angeles Lakers.

IT spoke out to Malika Andrews on The Jump to talk about where he's at both mentally and physically as he tries to make his way back to the league. After his epic run with the Boston Celtics, Isaiah Thomas bounced around the league, playing for the Cavaliers, Lakers, Nuggets, Wizards, and most recently with the Pelicans last season.

“That's the only goal. That’s the only goal…is to be in the NBA and to be on a roster.” said Thomas.
“I know I got the talent to do it. I'm finally healthy. I'm just waiting on the opportunity. I know at some point, when it does come, I'll take full advantage of it and I'll do it with a smile on my face.”

Andrews tried to draw some intel on how the reported Lakers workout and those with other teams have gone thus far. But IT could only chuckle but seemed to indirectly confirm reports without saying it out loud.

“I wanna try to keep that in-house. I mean I saw there was something out there from the other day. I've been in the gym with some highly talented guys. … Yeah I've been in the gym with who you think I've been in the gym with.”

Last time I checked, there are some “highly talented” guys in purple & gold. Could the Lakers add yet another past All-Star and former MVP candidate to their stacked roster? We'll find out soon enough, one way or another.
