Kendrick Perkins and LeBron James have been brothers from the beginning. These two played with each other as teenagers and for his part, Big Perk is absolutely proud of being able to witness firsthand how the Los Angeles Lakers superstar rose to superstardom. Now that LeBron has officially reached billionaire status, Perkins could not be more delighted for his buddy.

Speaking on a recent episode of First Take, Perkins gave James his flowers over his recent financial accomplishment. Big Perk looked back at how the Lakers talisman talked and worked into existence his promise as a young kid to become the first player to become a billionaire while playing the game. According to Perkins, one person, in particular, deserves a lot of credit for all this:

“He has a great circle of people around him,” Perkins said of the Lakers star. “You name [Maverick Carter], you name [Randy Mims], you name Rich Paul, but Imma give a shoutout to Mama Gloria and my sister Savannah James. Savannah James been holding LeBron James down since the 10th or 11th grade. Never trying to be all up on the scene. Just being at home and being a wife to him and letting him be the best version of himself.”

As they always say, behind every successful man is a woman, and this is exactly the case for LeBron James. It's true that it was the Lakers superstar who put in the hard work to get to where he is today, but you also can't deny that he probably wouldn't be as successful as he is today had it not been for his loving and ever-supportive wife, Savannah.
