LeBron James Jr. (“Bronny”), the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James, caused a stir online on Thursday by joking that Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry is his “dad.”

James Sr., 35, caught wind of Bronny's comment, replying on Instagram with laughter (via ESPN).

James and the Lakers are ramping up to compete in the NBA's season restart in Orlando, Florida. The top seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers will kickstart their final regular-season games first with a matchup with Staples Center rival Los Angeles Clippers on July 30.

James has a chance to win his first title since delivering a promise on an NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, while Bronny and the James family still lived in northeastern Ohio.

Curry and James matched up in four consecutive NBA Finals meetings in 2015-18, with the two-time MVP floor general besting James and his Cavs in three out of four series.
