The Detroit Lions' trade of Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff spelled the end of contention for the franchise in many people's eyes. That sentiment seemingly looked even better after Stafford led the Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl title while Goff and the Lions floundered en route to another losing season. However, hope should not be lost, Lions fans. This ex-Goff coach dropped a bold take that will excite the fanbase, per NFL.com.

“I think you look at Jared Goff's track record, you know, when he was with Los Angeles,” Lynn said. “He was the quarterback of that team, and they went to the Super Bowl. They can absolutely win with Jared Goff.”

Ex-Lions offensive coordinator and new member of the San Francisco 49ers offensive staff Anthony Lynn feels that Detroit can “absolutely win with Jared Goff.” Lynn is right in that Goff took the Rams to the Super Bowl.

However, Goff did have a considerable amount of talent around him in Los Angeles, which he currently doesn't have with the Lions. However, if there's anyone who can speak to the true abilities of Goff, it's his former offensive coordinator.

If Goff can look more like the quarterback who threw for 60 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in two years with the Rams for the Lions, then Anthony Lynn will look like a prophet in the coming years.
