After hitting the game-winning 3-pointer on Wednesday, rookie guard Cole Anthony was drenched cold by his Orlando Magic teammates in the locker room.

Cole Anthony deserves all the love after hitting the big time game-winning three against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With no timeouts left and down by two points, Anthony did not hesitate to pull up from downtown. Yes, he is a rookie. But he doesn't back down from big moments like this.

Anthony, the 15th overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, scored 13 points and was 3-of-3 from downtown. The rookie was inserted into a bigger role after Markelle Fultz suffered a season-ending ACL injury. Magic swingman Terrence Ross expressed his confidence in the 20-year-old Anthony. Per Cody Taylor of USA Today, Ross said:

“He is built for this,” Ross said early in January after it was announced that Anthony will take on Fultz' spot. “He is not shy of any moment. He’s a tough kid. He is improving really fast. He is picking everything up. It’s going to take some time but you gotta go through it. That’s how everybody goes through it when they first get into the league.”

Magic veteran Terrence Ross definitely hit the mark with his praise. Cole Anthony, in his first few games as a pro, is already raising eyebrows.
