The world has been anticipating the return of Tiger Woods to golf. It was unknown all week if Woods was actually going to be able to play in this year's Masters Tournament. However, the practice rounds all week appeared to go well and Tiger decided to give it a go. The question however remained, how would Tiger handle the round physically? Would he still get the drive in his legs? After all, this is his first tournament in over a year.
Clearly, it seems like he made a good decision as Woods is off to a blistering start. The biggest moment of his opening round thus far was his tee shot on the Par-3 6th hole.
Woods was playing at even par entering the sixth, but will leave under par as he knocked the tee shot to within two feet of the hole. It was a spectacular shot that left fans on Twitter truly excited.
If that shot by Tiger on the 6th had gone in for a hole in one they would have had to call the rest of the tournament off.

One fan jokingly said that if Woods' tee shot had gone in for a hole in one, the PGA would have had to simply just call off the rest of the tournament.

Flighted little mid-iron cut up onto the tiny back shelf on the 6th @TheMasters – a golfer's golf shot. Crazy that @TigerWoods is even able to play, let alone hit seriously crafty shots like this!😍 https://t.co/i5QRJhWNol

What a shot from @TigerWoods there on the Par 3 6th tee at the @TheMasters , that roar, wow, down in 2 for his first birdie after 5 straight pars! #Masters2022 #Masters #TigerWoods

As this fan pointed out, the roar was incredible after Woods stuck his tee shot to two feet. He would easily tap in for birdie, moving to -1 under for the tournament. He is currently only one shot off the lead through seven holes.
Earlier in the round, Tiger Woods faced a 10-foot putt for par on the first hole. If he misses that shot, it likely shakes his confidence. But he knocked it dead center of the cup, and his round was off and running. A couple holes later, Woods was looking at 15-foot birdie putt into the break. He hit the putt so well, he began walking immediately after he hit it. It was going down, except it didn't. The ball lipped around and swung out. He then tapped in for par. But it was a sign that Woods is locked in already.
The next hole, he found himself in the pine straw having missed his first fairway. Woods hit a great approach, leaving it just short of the front bunker. Tiger was able to chip up and in to saved par. That set the stage for his tee shot on six and subsequent birdie.
It is honestly amazing that he can play this well in his return to golf. It was only 14 months ago that Woods was in that car accident that left his leg seemingly mangled. Yet, he makes his return to golf at the Super Bowl of the sport and is playing extremely well thus far.
If Woods continues to play like this, he is going to be very dangerous this weekend.
