Michael Fassbender's shocking domestic abuse allegations resurfaced online after trailer for his new movie, The Killer, dropped. For fans, this would've been Fassbender's ‘comeback' to the big screen after Dark Phoenix. But social media users will have to disagree.

In a quoted X post for David Fincher's The Killer trailer announcement, a user commented:

“daily reminder that michael fassbender beat up his ex-girlfriend and dragged her out of a car so badly she was hospitalized with internalized bleeding, a blown out knee, and a burst ovarian cyst.”

The allegations in question possibly happened between 2008-2009. Fassbender was dating Sunawin “Leasi” Andrews who filed a restraining order against him. This is after Sunawin alleged that the actor physically abused her on multiple occasions.

“I went to the hospital and had a twisted left ankle, blown out left knee cap, and a burst ovarian cyst,” Sunawin claimed.

Besides domestic abuse, Sunawin also said he tried to forcefully coerce her into ‘threesome.'

On March 23rd, 2010, TMZ released the story first detailing the allegations of domestic violence against Michael Fassbender. This is just after the actor sprung into stardom for starring in Inglourious Basterds. At the time, neither Fassbender nor his representatives issued any statements regarding the matter.

Sunawin decided to drop her petition for a permanent protective order for undisclosed reasons.

Now, Fassbender's history of domestic abuse shocked fans online. Many were fans of the actor who supported his Hollywood breakout.

“Just goes to show how good famous people are at burying this stuff.”
