It's become a weekly occurrence for the San Diego Chargers. They come out of the gates hot, capture an early lead, and then it all farts apart.

San Diego sits at 1-4, with all four losses coming in games which they led in the second half. Each loss also came by just one score; their point-differential sits at +10, exactly the same figure that the 4-1 Oakland Raiders have, the team they fell to on Sunday.

The Chargers led by eight points in the second half and had chances to increase their lead to two scores, but it didn't happen. The Raiders rallied to take the lead, but San Diego still had a chance to tie the game with a field goal with two minutes to go.

However, rookie holder Drew Kaser botched the snap. The game was over, and a team was shocked.

Every week, the Chargers find a new way to lose, and head coach Mike McCoy is sick of it. From Kevin Patra of NFL.com:

“Just when you think you've seen it all,” an exasperated McCoy said, “something like that happens.”

Starting quarterback Philip Rivers believes he would've lost his mind by now if he didn't have his faith:

“If I didn't have my faith or my family, I don't know how people do it,” he said. “I would literally be a lunatic. I know I get crazy some, but I would be out of my mind. Because I was having these thoughts of coming in here and screaming and hollering and saying things I don't say.”

Here are defensive end Corey Liuget‘s thoughts on the Chargers' woes:

“My mind is racing so hard right now. … (Expletive). (Different expletive). We've got to (expletive) win. My heart hurts, my head hurts. I got all these aches and pains. If we'd have won, it wouldn't hurt.”
