Robert Stephenson, who last played for the Tampa Bay Rays, is getting looks in MLB free agency, with Jon Morosi of the MLB Network noting that the right-hander has interest coming from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Angels.
“RHP Robert Stephenson has been one of the most popular free-agent relievers this offseason, sources say. Stephenson, who had a 0.678 WHIP over 42 appearances with the Rays this year, is drawing interest from the Dodgers, Cubs, and Angels, among other teams.”
Stephenson started the 2022 MLB campaign with the Pittsburgh Pirates before the club sent him to the Rays via trade ahead of the deadline. In return, the Pirates got infielder Alika Williams.

However, he seemingly got it together on the mound when he landed with the Rays, with whom he went 3-1 with a save and 2.35 ERA along with a 2.45 FIP through 38.1 innings. That strong showing in Rays uniform is helping Stephenson get the attention he's looking for in free agency.
The Dodgers had one of the best bullpens in the league in 2023, ranking third overall with a 3.42 ERA, while the Cubs are just 13th with a 3.85 ERA. The Angels, meanwhile, were only 25th with a 4.88 ERA, While it doesn't appear that the Dodgers and the Cubs have pressing needs to acquire a reliever, Stephenson, who also had stints with the Cincinnati Reds and Colorado Rockies, seems to have a lot to bring to the table.
