The Chicago White Sox are looking to claw their way back into AL Central contention, currently trailing the Minnesota Twins by 4.5 games. The club was hit with a huge injury update on Tuesday, getting a mixed bag of news on some key players, including Tim Anderson and Luis Robert. The White Sox announced via Twitter that Tim Anderson is set to hit the 10-day IL with a right groin strain, while Luis Robert is making his return to the team from the COVID-19 IL.

Anderson's stay on the Injured List will be retroactive to May 30, meaning he'll be eligible to return to action 10 days after then. It's unclear if he'll be ready to return after the minimum 10-day stay on the shelf, though that would be the ideal outcome for the White Sox.

Robert has been out for a full week while on the COVID-19 IL, but it seems he's ready to make his return to action ahead of the series in Toronto. While Robert is returning, Anderson is set to join fellow stars Eloy Jimenez and Lance Lynn on the IL.

Additionally, Dylan Cease and Kendall Graveman were placed on the restricted list ahead of the series in Toronto, possibly due to their vaccination status. MLB players traveling to road games in Toronto are required to be vaccinated. Those who are unvaccinated are not able to join their team for the game and are placed on the restricted list until the team returns to the United States.

Despite Robert having just been on the COVID-19 list, his vaccination status doesn't seem to be an issue ahead of the White Sox's trip to Toronto for their clash against the Blue Jays. While they'll be down some key players, having Robert back in the fold is a big boost for Chicago.
